Which dress to try?

I was looking through Zappos today and saw these two dresses that I loved, but certainly wouldn't want to pay full price for.  I haven't made any clothing yet, but I'd like to give it a try.  Which one do you think I should try?

    Both are nice but the second seems more fun to make with the gathering versus lots of lace lines to keep straight. Enjoying the blog, keep it up!

    The first one seems like it might be a simpler pattern, but both are cute.
